West of that mastaba and north of G 2400, in removing the old dump, search for new mastabas and shafts in that place. Sand, dirty debris, limestone debris, rubble and stones. No new mastabas or shafts appeared in that place.
One guard and three boys in removing and cleaning the sand from around the terracina and the house.
Mahmud Sayed Ahmed left by the night train to Quft for the Bairam days.

West of that mastaba an north of G 2400. In removing the old dump. Searching for new mastabas and shafts in that place. Sand, limestone debris, rubble, dirty debris, potsherds and stones. A rubble mastaba appeared bound with mud running to the north. East of that appeared a stone lining running to the north. The lining not yet exposed.
Stopped work after twelve noon, because of the Wakfa, so the men can wash their clothes and be ready for the Bairam.
One guard and three boys were cleaning and removing the sand from around the house.

No work. Bairam day "El Eed El Kebeer".

Removed the inscribed stone [40-1-8, Henutsen] (in relief), which was found by Shaban Mohammed (see January 12, 1940). Sketch of the stone.

G 2392 C: In examining all the shafts of G 2392 - G 2396, searching for inscribed stones built in the roof of these chambers. In the roof of the chamber of G 2392 C, we found: inscribed limestone fragment [40-1-12a], show a seated figure and in front of him some inscription in sunk relief (partly destroyed), limestone debris and rubble. Found in debris: limestone fragment [40-1-12b], showing standing figure with staff in hand and some incised inscription. Also in the roof we found an offering stone [40-2-8]. Stones left for photo.

G 2396 A: In the lining of the shaft on east we found: inscribed limestone fragment [40-1-11] and the inscription were from the inside. Left for photo.
