the west opens into the room of pillars of G 4811. The floor of this courtyard is of mud. The hole in debris at the northwest corner leads to an inclined passage, descending westward under G 4811. The passage is filled with sand. It would seem that those who removed the debris from the northwest corner must have known the location of this inclined passage, and dug directly down to its mouth. Traces of the east wall of the courtyard have appeared, but this side is not yet completely exposed, the position of the entrance not yet being clear. For type of mastaba cf. G 5234, G 5235, and the slightly differing G 5411, G 5332.

Finished work on G 4813, clearing pit D which was plundered.

(2) G 4810 complex
Work continued on courtyard of G 4810 complex, south of G 4813, also in narrow street between the courtyard and G 4920. Work in sand, with mud and stone debris near the floor level. The plan so far as cleared is this:
