Work on G 4940 chamber. Debris largely limestone pieces. In the debris three fragments of limestone (ornamental false door in relief). A male skull (probably that of the white head), and a basket full of potsherds. The potsherds are the same types as in the Khafre cemetery, including two-handled foreign jar, imitation Keneh ware jar, red polished basins and bowls with recurved rims (one with a spout).

(1) G 5110
Work on clearing street between G 5110 and massive wall.

Just opposite the southwest corner of G 5110 the northern side of the massive wall is badly decayed, forming a slope of rotten yellow limestone debris strewn with blocks and fragments of harder limestone. This decayed mass covers the living floor of G 5110 and also that of G 5010. It took place previous to the deposit of drift sand.

Work on G 4930 B.

(3) G 4940
Work on G 4940 B and A. Shaft B and chamber finished.

Wind from south, but fine clear weather.

Mr. Edgar called to talk over the guarding of Tell el-Amarna.
