Germans take Dixmude again and so bring Yser positions into danger. This Yser battle is becoming crucial in its character. The Germans are evidently reinforcing and making desperate efforts to break the allies.
First German spy shot in England - a Lieutenant Loby. Had American passports issued by Embassy in Berlin.

Bad southwest storm on.
Mr. and Mrs. N. de G. Davies.
On account of storm, obliged to shift work to street between 40 (G 5230) and 42 (G 5220).

Sand mixed with limestone chips, blocks of stone, etc. At x [circled] part of body of large limestone statue four-fifths size, also fragment of another. At x [squared] part of leg of large limestone statue four-fifths size.
In following the enclosing wall north at (4) on page 41, the later upper walls turns at west then north.
