This mastaba has been plundered in modern times (?) and the reliefs removed. The reliefs in IV were very fine but the pieces left are only part of the representations of offerings [15-11-86] and apparently without interest. This mastaba occupies the place of Lepsius No. 39 (Leps. Denk. Erganz. I page 66) Lepsius made no notes of this grave but in his list of graves labeled it first "Grab einer Frau" and then "Unbekanntes Grab". It is probably that the grave was therefore already plundered when he excavated it. I judge that Lepsius excavated only the stela (false door) found it destroyed and made no further notes.

(2) Railroad embankment
At point a in plan on page 25 managed to get a narrow passage through between two large stones; made railroad embankment northwards to south end of G 4710.

(3) G 4940
G 4940 A about 12 meters opened a chamber (Lepsius 45). Chamber plundered. In the chamber skeleton of an owl held together by dried sinews and skin and containing an unlaid egg. The age of this skeleton is doubtful. The pit goes down past this chamber widening slightly and filled with red gravel.

Began a survey, see entries in Transit book Giza 1915.

Work on new area (see page 25). Removing sand beginning in street east of G 4710 at north end.
The end of G 4711 appearing shows either an addition to G 4710 or a small intrusive mastaba.
No. G 4810 is a later mastaba on a higher level.
