Tuesday, October 26, 1915 (continued)
Work clearing out the hard debris in the angle north of G 5110 and west of G 5230. Apparently there was here some sort of construction platform.
[ILLUSTRATION] This construction platform x on page 17 has a mud plastered face on the north. After the construction of G 5230 and north of the construction platform x was filled up to the top of the construction platform with limestone debris, earth, potsherds. On this debris, the east wall of G 5131 was built being slightly (about 20-30 cm) sunk in the debris. The mud-plastered entrance to G 5020 was partly built in an excavation in the construction platform.
(2) G 5130
Cleared pit G 5130 B. Descends only slightly in rock (unused?).
(3) G 5130
Clearing pit G 5130 A chamber (front).
(4) G 5130
Clearing back of G 5130 on north.
Wednesday, October 27, 1915
day 5
Mr. and Mrs. Crowfoot came.
Work on
(1) between G 5130 and G 5230
(2) pit A in G 5130
(3) space between G 5030 and G 5040
(1) Between G 5130 and G 5230
Clearing out sand east of northern half of G 5130. The rock dips to a hollow nearly 2 meters deep. To the south cut away the hard debris forming the floor of G 5230, G 5130, G 5131. Trace of another mud plastered platform or causeway about 3 meters north of the first one.
(2) G 5130
Continued clearing chamber of G 5130 A. All sand as before.
(3) Between G 5030 and G 5040
Apparently there is a later mastaba (G 5031) tucked in between the rubbish from the top of G 5040 (southern end). Junker has excavated G 5040 A but B remains. Cleared pits A and B in G 5030 filled with debris from intruded mastaba to save long carry.
