Cleared pottery on top of G 2330 [= G 5380]. It covers an area around the pit. This layer of pots was laid in one by one, not thrown down.

[ILLUSTRATION] [bread molds, among them 12-10-70, 12-10-71] Coarse mud ware.
[ILLUSTRATION] [bowl stands, among them 12-10-66, 12-10-67, 12-10-68, 12-10-69] Red wash, red ware.

Clearing top of G 2320 [= G 5280], to level of side walls (core).

Excavated mastabas built against south end of G 2350 [= G 5290].

Finished street before G 2310 [= G 5180], second period mastabas G 2311 and G 2312, penetrated by X-pits. Swept surface of decay between G 2300 [= G 5190] and G 2310 for photography.

Pit G 2300 A [= G 5190 A] - a chamber on the south. Sand filling nearly to top of chamber, below clean limestone filling. Shaft appears to descend below chamber. In upper debris was found yesterday fragments of broken pots.

[ILLUSTRATION] (lower left) [12-10-16] Red ware, red wash, pebble burnish. Diameter about 15 cm.
