Work continued in street west of G 4520 exposing hard debris thrown out from G 4420, and some rubble walls.
Pit G 4520 finished, exposing rubble doorway to another chamber toward west. Copper chisel [14-3-63] found in lower part of pit [ILLUSTRATION] (scale 1:1).
Knees of squatting figure in white limestone [14-3-62] found in street west of G 4520.

Work continued to hard debris in street west of G 4520.
Pit G 4520 finished exposing chamber to the west which dropped about 50 cm below the pit bottom. In the chamber in the northeast corner were strewn sixteen models in alabaster [14-4-1, 14-4-2, 14-4-3, 14-4-4, 14-4-5, 14-4-6] [ILLUSTRATION] model pots etc. in ordinary brown ware and five copper pieces [14-4-7, 14-4-8, 14-4-9, 14-4-10, 14-4-11] including one knife blade 13 cm long and 1.7 cm wide. Also a beautifully shaped spouted jar [14-4-13] lay upright in the extreme northeast corner, with dark mud bits in it [ILLUSTRATION]. Two large round bottomed jars [14-4-21, 14-4-22] with dark mud were just below the chamber entrance [ILLUSTRATION]. Running southeast by northwest lay a wooden sarcophagus with cover. Inside the skeleton was laid toward the northwest. A perfect alabaster headrest [14-4-12] was in the sarcophagus at the north end [ILLUSTRATION]. The chamber itself was cut very crudely allowing water and drift debris to fill in, the dampness causing the wooden sarcophagus to be in a dilapidated condition. Also one fragment of a mud seal [14-4-20] found.
