Continued clearing out sand west of enclosing wall of pyramid. This enclosing wall is a mud-plastered rubble wall.

[ILLUSTRATION] Trench dug later by former excavators or treasure hunters.

No further bodies were found nor indeed potsherds or anything at all in this sand. We are now approaching the steep slope in front of Lepsius 42 (G 5220)
On the R.W. line between 44 (G 5110) and 43 (G 5210) in the upper debris were:
(a) arm of a limestone statue about three quarters life-sized - weather worn [14-11-1].
(b) fragment of alabaster statuette [14-11-2].
(c) four fragments of limestone relief [six fragments listed in OR for this date: 14-11-3, 14-11-4, 14-11-5, 14-11-6, 14-11-7, 14-11-8].

The English have annexed Cyprus, and the annexation of Egypt is no doubt under consideration.

Work continued in front of Lepsius 43 (G 5210) - 42 (G 5220) going west.

About 4 meters south of the two Roman skeletons are the bones of a cow or calf badly decayed.
