Sir John Strothers von Dunlop and Mr. Crowfoot, Aric Bates brought Harding King and Wainwright here. Dinner with Wellcome.
Bates says Winlock says Quibell is to go into the Museum, Firth to take Saqqarah and some one not yet named to take Luxor. This is as I have anticipated and I am glad to be relieved of the necessity of keeping the secret any longer. Weigall is to go, a solution very much in the interest of decent scientific work.

At 10 a.m. we were notified of another limestone portrait head being found (in pit No. G 4440 A) and at 10:30 another one, the husband of the first, was cleared. The first was face up the second face down. Found in the northwest corner of the shaft about opposite the top of the entrance (to the chamber) door.

Two large reddish brown potsherds were lodged between them, the head being 10 cm apart. Limestone chips and sand debris surrounded them. On the north side of the pit lay a smooth surfaced fragment of a sarcophagus (?). Shaft 210 cm square. Depth to head
