Cooler, wind from north.
Work on valley temple. Fragments of another slate triad in northeast quarter court of niches.
Cutting into east wall of court of niches an extended burial on back, hands on pelvis, head west.
Northeast corner of temple washed away.
Saturday, April 9, 1910
Work as yesterday.
Cold raw north wind.
Discussed advisability of exploratory work at Zawiet-el-Aryan. Said Ahmed believes that owing to our reputation for knowing where things are, if we begin there this year we would have to guard the place, otherwise the Arabs would dig it out. It will I think be better to reserve Zawiet until the fall.

Very cold raw north wind.
Men employed transporting railway, equipment etc. and stacking west of house.
Monday, April 11, 1910
Work on valley temple all morning.
Paid off the men in the afternoon and sent Said with forty-two men to Girga by night express, to work Mesaid. Rest of men kept here to finish cleaning up, etc.
Engaged Mr. Roberts professional photographer to do pictures of new pair, etc.
Tuesday, April 12, 1910
All hands removing mud block from corridor doorways at valley temple. The puzzling wall south of the room of columns is now clear.
