Saturday, December 18, 1915 (continued)

[(3) G 4615 (continued)]
stones were thrown from the wall.

(4) Between G 4617, G 4615, G 4611 and enclosure wall
The space between G 4617, G 4615, G 4611 and the Great Wall has been cleared of sand. The hard debris and the fallen stones (from the Great Wall) have been left except opposite G 4611 where the hard debris had been previously cut away. The Great Wall is well made at this place, resembles massive core masonry of Khafre mastabas.

It is quite clear that the deposit of hard debris was subsequent in date to the construction of the latest of these mastabas (G 4615, G 4517, and G 4512), possibly after their abandonment but before any sand had accumulated. The fall of stones (done by man) was before accumulation of sand. The stone were weathered before fall.
