statue of Menkaure now in the Cairo Museum.

All sections on plan of page 26 are finished. Clearing to Dynasty 4 floor well advanced.

Have begun clearing sand from above gateway leading from "fore court" (inner court) to the east.
Under floor of room 301, a mass of alabaster, diorite and other fragments of stone vessels. Also a number of faience inlay pieces from dummy jars.

Saturday, February 26 to Sunday February 27, 1910

Courtyard (inner court or "fore court") finished at noon Sunday. Men sent to clear the queen's temple in front of the eastern most of the three small pyramids which lie south of the third pyramid.
Small gangs were left to expose foundation platform in court and examine bonds, joints, etc. in brick work.

Work on queen's temple progressing rapidly.
Maps, etc., at valley temple finished. We are ready therefore to go on there again. But the unexpected preservation of the queen's temple and several fragments of an extraordinarily beautiful statue of the queen (fragments of the vulture crown), encourage me to finish that temple first - a matter of about four days more.

Wednesday and Thursday, March 2 & 3, 1910

Queen's temple becomes every hour more interesting. The entrance is on the east end of the north side towards the III pyramid. The entrance leads into a long corridor which enters a court with a portico through the north wall. The offering chamber presents a very fine system of niches. These walls are heavily plastered - thick yellow
