Wednesday, November 17, 1926 (continued)

(1) G 7000 X (continued)

No. 1438: copper cylinder. See page 1518 and A4444.

No. 1439: gold sheet section of pole. See page 1518 and A4444.
The copper cylinder was on the gold sheet and partly wrapped in it. The two fit together and appear to present a strengthening of a splice in one of the roof poles.
[ILLUSTRATION]
Rolled sheet overlapped and nailed along one side. The wood is stuck to nails and extends beyond ends on both sides, i.e. this piece is from middle of pole.
[ILLUSTRATION] print of edge of cylinder, gold sheet casing of 1438. L 15.5, W 11.3 (overlap .05)

No. 1433: (b) See B6092, A4445, pages 1509-10.
Removed second layer of "gray muck" with wood and cord on surface, north-south wood on floor, traces and print thereof clear on "gray muck" underside. The cord on top of (b) was over the wood and belongs therefore to top layer of cloth. The cord is three-ply. On floor limestone dust as usual.

No. 1440: Dunham cleared away fragments of wood behind coffin and twelve scraps of gold sheet.

No. 1441: part of a roof pole, gold sheet with copper tenon on north end. See pages 1509-10.

No. 1304: fragment of roof pole (see 1301). See page 1518.

No. 1442: large part of a roof pole; with copper tenon on north end (detached). See pages 1509-10.

*A4446: beams behind coffin, looking south.
