No. 1386: Cylindrical copper socket from 1374, fourth from south end.
(There are four sockets in a length of 316 cm, and therefore four gold poles in length of baldachin, and must be one at each end.) [ILLUSTRATION] Seam clearly visible, all these are of rolled sheet with seam welded and flange hammered over, but the seam is often hidden by patina.
