Underneath is gray north-south wood resting directly on floor dust.
Inside is nothing except about a spoonful of dust.

Removed extraneous pieces of wood lying on top of north-south wood which covers area and runs under 748 and 899.

(3) wood covered on one side with rilled gesso [ILLUSTRATION]. The board was flat but as the wood shrank, the gesso (not shrinking) forced the wood into a semi cylindrical form.
