Work on:

As the air in the chamber is becoming damp, have been preparing a ventilation pipe (diameter 15 cm) to lead from fan in chamber to south side of hut above. Began on Friday the 13th. [ILLUSTRATION] Two timers employed, have brought ten sheets 1 x 2 meters. Today we put in (at noon) the first three sections which were fastened to the wooden props. After 5 p.m. put in a fourth section of four meters. Runs up the northwest corner of the pit. The improvement in the air was immediately noticeable.
