Took up the lower face of (S). (No. 513) and also the displaced pieces 513 (37)-(41).
Cleaned away dust under and around (S), (floor debris).
Cleaned away dust under gold sheet 509 - limestone dust (original floor debris), stained in upper part with organic dust (wood), towards south. Clean limestone dust (i.e. the bar fell on nearly clean limestone dust, but before the gold had opened out to north, wood decay had taken place staining the floor dust to north).
Proceeded to attack decayed wood east of 509. A long study enables us to trace certain wooden bars but not to identify all of them at present.

No. 515: Fragments of black wood (displaced?) repaired with drab plaster.
No. 516: A band of badly decayed wood, sized with drab plaster running to (S), 2 - 2.5 cm wide (as is) and about 35 cm long.
No. 517: A band of badly decayed wood running east-west along north edge of 521. The west end is reduced practically to gray ashes. (The east end runs under 518, 519 in some what better condition with a mass of soft, clumpy brown powder (wood?) along the north side)
No. 518: Decayed black wood.
No. 519: Decayed black wood. A flat bar shriveled to 1.8 cm wide and .3 cm thick. L 17 cm. Under this (517).
No. 520: Decayed wood.

No. 521: Is the next section of the head bar of bed, east of (509).
Proceeded to clear this (1)-(7) inlays, etc. from (S) on debris over 517 east. Cleaned away the wood dust under these.
No. 508: (87)-(97) along west wall.
