(1) G 7000 X
Lifted sarcophagus from burial chamber to surface. Weight with lid in place 2.2 tons. Clearance in turning from chamber into foot of shaft 1 to 2 cm. Clearance of wooden scaffolding halfway up pit shaft 2 cm. Total time taken from looking on: 7 3/4 hours. Time in direct lifting 2 hours.
On account of the small clearance at foot of shaft, 4 hours were taken in getting the sarcophagus from its original positions to where it hung free and vertical in the pit. Two jacks were used in the chamber, behind the sarcophagus to move it forward under the pit, and a six-fold purchase of 7 cm rope (diameter) was used for the lift. (Factor of safety about 30).
I. Jacks used to move load against north wall of pit.
II. Winch used to lift load against roof at (b) repeated many times, as distance at (a) and (b) were from 1 to 2 cm at minimum.
