Saturday, May 8, 1926

Last night was very uncomfortable. At 8 p.m. the thermometer registered 35 degrees centigrade. The gusty wind, now warm, now cool, blew from southeast, south, southwest, all night, and the morning broke warm, but with clouds in the north. About 8 a.m. the north wind began to blow fairly strong and held all day. At noon, the temperature reached only 31 degrees centigrade or 9 degrees centigrade less than yesterday. Yesterday the Cairo maximum was 42 degree centigrade and in some houses as high as 44 degrees centigrade. Against our 40 degrees.
