Removed No. 599: R.P. flaring bowl with decayed rim.

Underneath is a bed of displaced wood fragments, on which rests a circular ridge of decayed pottery powder from rim.

This bowl has fallen from above after partial decay of wood of bed.
Brushed off area 635, underneath is lower layer of east-west boarding with same displaced wood fibers.
No. 636: Is a white patch, crumbled wood ash northeast of 599. Brushed this up to append 637.
No. 637: Is a big deposit (D ca. 20 cm.) of red matter (west of 621b) - decayed pottery or plaster (see below contents of 628).
No. 638a: (see A3936)
A large board greater than 38 x greater than 16 cm, which overlies No. 627, grain runs north-northeast to south-southwest. Removed this.
No. 606: Fragment of large alabaster bowl (see 581), see plan on page 550, filled with wood, etc.
(1) gold nail from south end of 660, H 1.1, L 1.1
(2) gold nail from west end of 559, H 1.1, L 1.1
(3) lump of charcoal.
(4)-(5) north-south wood.
The rest is east-west boarding.
No. 639: East end of 570 and the overlying fragments.

Cleaned to rock.

*A3938: wide view of same and eastwards, looking south-southeast
No. 637: The deposit of red matter (decayed pottery ?) was removed and another layer of 638 was found underneath.
No. 638b: A lower layer of 638, deep layer dust underneath.
