(b) wood, badly damaged except along west side where a layer of wood is held in place by the copper nails, although cracked at each nail transversely by longitudinal shrinking.
(x) wood of (b) first 48 cm from north end. With it staple (4) [ILLUSTRATION]. Near sand a large piece of filling plaster RED. This exposes copper bottom, and at 121 cm from south end is a joint. The nails through the flange are irregularly spaced. Twenty-seven nails in 48 cm in east flange. Thirty-one nails in 47 cm in west flange. [ILLUSTRATION].
(4) small copper staple. [ILLUSTRATION] The copper staple was driven slanting through corner of beam. [ILLUSTRATION] The ring in was bend down horizontally [ILLUSTRATION]. The prong was hammered over and into the wood along the grain. [ILLUSTRATION].
(5) Scrap of gold near south end of (b) [ILLUSTRATION].
(Y) wood from 48 cm to 80 cm from north end, with (3).
(3) staples as (4).
(Z) wood from 80 cm to south end, with (2).
(2) staple as (4).
