G 7050 B: Down 6.3 meters. Dirty late debris. Usual Saite fragments:
1) a canopic head (limestone) Duamutef
2) a large ushabti [GLYPHS] [26-2-42 Mesenwadjet]
and fragments
but also a fragment of alabaster from the lap of a statue (no doubt royal)
(4) G 7060
G 7060 A: Continued with same clean disturbed debris and sand. Down 2.6 meters.
G 7060 B: The main pit with massive lining. Stood open to a depth of about 10 meters. (a recent excavation). We continued to 12.5 meters drift sand.
Began excavating street east of G 7060 inside the closing wall at north end.
Thursday, February 11, 1926.
Seventy-fourth day of work.
Said has pneumonia. We are all very anxious and the men are very depressed. Mahmud el Khan (Firth's reis), Sadeeq Saud (Junker's reis), Salim Hasan [Salem Hassan] (our cook), Abu Zeid (Junker's cook) and three of the older men sat from early morning to 3 p.m. in order to see Said at the C.M.S. Hospital. Ahmed Said and Duwy also went in.
Dunham had today off, and nothing could be done at G 7000 X.
