(1) Avenue G 3 (continued)

The third hole is partly concealed by the later wall and its function is not clear. Vyse who claims to have cleared the chamber measured it and saw no trace of a sarcophagus. The sarcophagus may have been broken up in Saite times.
However, I ordered the interior to be cleared. The men emptied the sloping passage and began on the antechamber. The debris is drift sand and in the chamber wasted sand and debris. Someone has cleared a place in the antechamber in front of the door to the chamber. The chamber is full of debris (wasted debris?).
In the passage we found fragments of four or five alabaster vases [ILLUSTRATION] Dynasty 25 - 26 and a fragment of squat pot with a small spout in the form of a goat's head.
In the mixed dark debris, were a number of Saite-Ptolemaic amulets, etc. and a fragment of a small statuette [25-12-562] of Saite-Ptolemaic period with fine battered lines of inscription [GLYPHS] [Khenu]
