pit A which is very large (2 x 2 meters).
G 7152 A: Down 3.2 meters. Mixed debris of sand, limestone dust, limestone chips, broken limestone building blocks, etc., but not very dirty. The pit appears not to have been opened recently.
G 7152 B: Down 4.77 meters but did not reach bottom owing to ladders. Chamber appeared on west. No door block. Proceeded to clear. The debris in the pit is very dirty - dust and sand, and the pit has certainly been cleared out in Roman times or later.
