The weather was not so bad but the wind still strong from west-southwest. After dark, wind rose.

Removed Nos. 228 (2)-(7), 255 - 261
Removed No. 255: Fragments wood on hieroglyphic signs.
Took photo *A3728
At this point we were able to reach the western of the two palm capitals which are upside down and removed it - No. 256.

Inside decayed wood (and plaster) fibers vertical. Appeared to rest on original debris, i.e. the object to which it was attached was placed upside down in the tomb. They were upright on top of this object. The plaster of the ground under 256 is shown in *A3729.
Next in order to remove 257 (rest of 244) took up the gold hieroglyphs 258 (11), (13), (15) which had dropped down onto 257.
Then removed 257 (rest of 244), black painted decorated gold covering of [ILLUSTRATION] chair arm.
Then took up gold hieroglyph 258, in all twenty-nine.
Vertical [GLYPHS].
(15), (18), (23), (24) were face up, rest face down.
