Ninth day of work.

Cold storm from south-southwest continued all night and this morning with blown sand increasing about 9 a.m. Wind died down a little after dark.

G 6020 room d: Continued clearing sand and stones from G 6020 d. Within a meter of bottom at north end. Leaving large dressed blocks on floor. Removing weathered and broken blocks.

(2) G 6020
G 6020 A: Banked up mastaba filling on north of pit with rubble. Descended 655 cm.

It was filled with drift sand to a depth of 480 cm. On a surface in this sand about 50 cm above rock, the casing in the southeast corner was heavily blackened by a fire (lighted by thieves for warmth or cooking).
Below the sand, the filling is coarse rubbish and large stones thrown in by thieves. The northern wall of the pit has been destroyed to within three courses of rock.

G 6030 A: Down 12.65 meters. Drift sand all the way.
