note As only Quftis worked today, and no locals, the lines were not used.

Work on:
(1) G 7510 B
(2) Street G 7200 (provenance of stones)

(1) G 7510
G 7510 B: The clearing of the pit was continued today. At a distance of 19.25 meters from the top of the pit, the floor of a chamber to the south of pit came to light. This chamber is lined with limestone blocks to a height of 2 meters from the floor in six courses. A rough sketch of the chamber (from the Reis' description) is as under:

The reis reports that the rock in this chamber is very bad, and as the bottom of the pit has not yet been reached, it is possible that there is another chamber below this one. We shall inspect the chamber tomorrow, when the necessary tackle has been put in position.

(2) Street G 7200
The following is a record of the loose inscribed stones found in this street near mastaba G 7211.
