G 7215 T: Now clearing pit. From debris came a limestone obelisk (50 x 15 cm) with tip broken. Down 430 cm.
G 7215 U: Clearing pit.
G 7215 V: Pit cleared; 280 cm deep; chamber at west is blocked by two large limestone slabs to be removed when photographed. From the pit came an Old Kingdom light brown ware pot with pointed base.
G 7215 W: Cleared; pit 310 cm deep; chamber on east.
G 7215 X: Cleared; pit 230 cm deep; chamber on north.
G 7215 Y: Pit cleared; 260 cm deep; entrance to chamber which is on south is covered with two limestone slabs above resting on crude brick wall; awaiting photography.
This morning Dr. Reisner left for America with Mrs. Reisner and their daughter. About twelve of the Quftis went in to Cairo with the luggage and Greenlees also went. The train left Cairo Station at 12:15, the Director being seen off by several friends on the platform, and sailed at 5 p.m. on the Dollar Line Steamer SS "President Monroe" for Boston.
Rowe took official control of the expedition as from this morning in accordance with the Director's instructions.
