Filled in present entrance to the chapel of Khufukhaf and laid railroad VII to tap debris north of this chapel.
Began cutting out upper debris to north to level of track, moving one car.
Also began examining area to south in line of projected embankment railroad VII beginning at dump heap from lines IV, V, VI. Exposed a few pits (see trenches G 7100 S).
(4) Trenches street G 7100 S, railroad VII
In the projected line of railroad embankment VII south of street G 7100 S, began a systematic examination of the ground northwards of dump IV.
The surface debris is only 15-30 cm deep and overlies a deep deposit of clean limestone debris. In the latter several pits were opened, apparently of Saite-Ptolemaic period.
