At 12:10 stopped for photograph of fibers in southeast corner.

In the afternoon, experimented with stray fragments of fibers with wax dissolved in benzine with two kinds of resin solutions.
Dunham drove in early to get Lucas' book and necessary solutions.

(2) Avenue G 4
Finished preliminary clearing of Avenue G 4.

The old masons' debris rises on the north to a point just below base of Pyramid G I-c but falls in a weathered slope towards retaining wall. The rubble retaining wall falls towards east also weathered. The late crude brick walls belong to the Isis Temple and runs over the broken white limestone casing of G 7050. The base rests practically on the Old Kingdom surface (as elsewhere). The area may have been cleared in the period of the Isis Temple - debris thrown out over G 7000 southwest (?).
In the dark debris above the Old Kingdom floor, inside the curved wall were found fragments of faience amulets etc. of Saite-Ptolemaic period.
