Clearing area east of G 2370. Uncovered outer limits of pyramid pavement, and rock-cutting for pavement blocks. Found in debris the corner stone of the coping of a wall, fine limestone. Taken in conjunction with the rock-cutting just east of this point, and on the pyramid plateau north of GI, it would seem possible that there was an enclosing wall around the pyramid, at least at this corner, at a distance of 14.775 meters from the casing, of which this coping stone had the corner position. This wall seems to mark the outer limit of the pyramid pavement. The coping stone has this section.

Since the rock-cutting would allow of a wall 1.175 meters thick at its base, and the coping stone is only 98 cm thick, the wall probably had a 'batter' on one or both of the faces. If the wall was sloping on both faces it must have been about 1.275 meters high. If the wall faces were vertical, the thickness of the base must have been only 98 cm, and the wall could have been of any height.
