Clearing burial pit of 2091 [=G 3091] of large rubble debris.
Clearing sand from east side of mastaba 3000.
Clearing pits A and B of mastaba 3000 of dark rubble and limestone debris. In pit A, fragments of a number of rough pottery jars.
Clearing sand from west side of mastaba 3000 and from east side of mastaba 3010, between the two.
Clearing sand from west side of mastaba 3010 and from east side of 3020, between the two.
Clearing sand from street between mastabas 3020 and 3030, and from offering chamber of 3030.
Clearing pits [left blank] of mastaba [left blank] of sand.
Last evening Mr. Williams told me of the German aviator who was captured on the Canal. He had in his pockets plans of all the camps in Egypt and £E. 4000 in gold. He had come down to rest and was sitting with his back against a tree when a Sikh crept up behind him and tied him to the tree.
The Turks lost nearly 3000 in killed, wounded and prisoners in the battles of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th on the Canal. The Turks tried to cross the Canal by means of rafts and…
