Wednesday, February 24, 1915
Work on pits of mastabas 2083 [= G 3083] – 2086 [= G 3086]. Mostly cleared. In Pit D of mastaba 2083 [= G 3083] fragments of red-polished pottery bowl.
Clearing sand and hard-packed debris from between mastabas 2085 [= G 3085] and 2098 [= G 3098]. In debris fragments of a fine stela (complete). In niche in east face of mastaba 2098 [= G 3098] (north of center) remains of a statuette. Near N.E. corner of east face an inscribed limestone stela with an inscribed stone below in which is cut a small basin. Other fragments of inscribed limestone stela in debris in this passage.
Clearing pits of mastaba 2098 [= G 3098] of sand and dark debris.
Sand cleared from top of mastaba 2099 [= G 3099]. Clearing pits A and B of 2099 [= G 3099] of dark debris.
Chamber Y outside north end of passage between 2084 [= G 3084] and 2086 [= G 3086] cleared. In east end an inscribed red granite block.
Burial pit between mastabas 2085 [= G 3085] and 2098 [= G 3098] cleared.
Three ricochets struck close beside the lower camp while I was at work in the mektab. One this forenoon and two in the afternoon.
