Pit in mastaba 3005 A cleared of sand and dark debris.
Finished clearing sand from chamber of mastaba 3005. In sand two small stone ceremonial basins (one in place in front of destroyed niche) and a number of fragments of limestone, including hand, and a small flint flake.
Clearing dark debris from chamber and from pit in centre of chamber of mastaba 3006.
Clearing pits A, B, C, D of mastaba 3007 of dark rubble debris.
Sand cleared from between mastabas 3007 and 3008.
Finished clearing sand from fine chamber of mastaba 3008. This chamber is roofed with stone and on the plastered walls are scenes and inscriptions in red: gazelle being led to sacrifice, women bearing offerings, harvesters, rams trampling in the seed, sacrifice of oxen, etc., and three portraits of the owner. Two inscribed false doors, with cartouches. In north end is the opening into the serdab. Mr. Thomas, a friend of Dr. Reisner’s, came up this afternoon and said the chamber belong [sic] to a man…
