Sunday, February 28, 1915
Finished clearing Pits A, B, C, outside (west) of painted chamber of mastaba 3005.
Clearing sand from chambers of mastabas 3033. Chamber X cleared.
Chamber X of mastaba 3026 cleared of sand. On right of entrance a stone block with a row of men bearing offerings in flat low relief.
Passage between mastabas 3033 and 3034 cleared of sand.
Clearing sand from Pits of mastaba 3034.
Chamber Y of mastaba 3034 cleared of sand.
A severe sandstorm came up this morning and work was stopped at 10:45. Work began again at 1 but stopped shortly after 4. A disagreeable day. Wind N.W.
Many of the soldiers have left today for the front.
Report that the Turks have evacuated the forts at the entrance to the Dardanelles.
Hafiz and Reis Mahmud here this evening.
