Faience ushabtis
Faience ushabtis, series of several sizes; crudely cut, hard fine grained drab paste, thin pale blue-green glaze usually faded to pale drab color, broad faces, lappet wig and beard (front of beard trimmed flat), hands crossed right over left and opposite, implements in relief, in right hand (on left shoulder) wooden hoe and cord (attached to plain sack on back), in left hand (on right shoulder) metal-bladed hoe, pilaster and base hastily slashed cut with blade; sets (a) and (b) similar but made by different hands: a) wide face form: twenty-two ushabtis (two only head fragments).
