- Notes
- From excavations of George Reisner, 1905. Attribution of this statue to G 1171 in the published references is clearly incorrect. This statue was found in the side of the RR embankment that crossed the Western Cemetery east-west just south of G 1221 and turned north-northeast in the area east of G 1221 (see C10466, dated March 1904, B10742_OS, B10743_OS, dated July 1904), the tracks having been laid on the pre-excavation surface of the cemetery. By the spring of 1905 the east-west section of the embankment had been removed to the area east of G 1221 in the general area of G 1174 / G 1177 (see A11609_OS, where G 1171 can be seen east of G 1221 and west of the embankment). The photo register entries for the in situ photos of this statue originally read "G 1177". Tomb card EG010404 provides the description of a statue probably that of Kapuptah attributed to G 1173 = G 1174. The most that can be said about the provenance of this statue is that it was found "in the area of" G 1174 / G 1177.
