Remarks
Mastaba is north of G 8978 (Khamerernebti [II]), east of G 8983 (Shepseskafankh), and south of Khafre Causeway. Excavated in 1930-1931 by Hassan.
Research Activity
Substructure. The mastaba has three shafts. The main one is placed behind the false-door, though a little further to the north. The burial chamber is exactly behind it. Superstructure. The drum of the doorway is inscribed with the name and titles of the deceased. The doorway leads to a small passabe. In the western wall of this passage is the opening of the serdab of the mastaba. The roof of the serdab was found broken, and three broken statuettes were found there. The passage way itself was re-used as a burial chamber. It leads to another doorway that opens in its southern wall. This door gives access to a rectangular chamber, which was also re-used as a burial chamber. There is an unfinished false-door in the western wall of this chamber.
