- Remarks
- Reisner originally recorded a shaft G 2178 Z, but this was later noted to be "unlocated" and was "removed from text." G 2178 was incorrectly equated with G 2231 or G 2231 X by W.S. Smith, History of Egyptian Sculpture and Painting in the Old Kingdom, p. 74, and H.F. Fischer, Metropolitan Museum Journal 8 (1973), pp. 7-8, n. 6. Porter & Moss, p. 80, incorrectly attributes MFA 12.1485 (pair statue of Iti and Khuitre [called there "Khui and Khuit"], found in G 2231 X) to G 2178. G 2231 is not indicated on Cemetery en Echelon plan (EG000498) but is immediately east of G 2177 (= G 2227), as indicated by archival rough sketch plans and annotated photos (see photo A821P_ann_NS). Also not to be confused with G 2230+2231, located further northwest in the "Cemetery of Palace Attendants" published by A.M. Roth in Giza Mastabas 6.
